The Project Safe Neighborhood Program (PSN) is designed to create safer neighborhoods and to reduce gun and gang violence by employing a research-driven, intelligence-led, and problem-solving approach to crime prevention.

The program’s effectiveness is based on this cooperation of local, state and federal agencies engaged in a united approach led by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas. The strategy of the Northern District of Texas Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Task Force is to focus on gun, gangs, and violent crime as they relate to the safety and welfare of the community. The overall PSN Strategy is to implement a four-prong approach to combat gun, gang, and violent crimes, which includes, law enforcement, schools, community organizations, and a focus on reentry and deterrence.

Request for Proposals


Purpose

The purpose of this announcement is to solicit proposals for projects that are designed to create and foster safer neighborhoods through a sustained reduction in violent crime, including, but not limited to, addressing criminal gangs and felonious possession and use of firearms.

The strategy of the Northern District of Texas Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Task Force is to focus on gun, gangs, and violent crime as they relate to the safety and welfare of the community. The overall PSN Strategy is to implement a four-prong approach to combat gun, gang, and violent crimes, which includes, law enforcement, schools, community organizations, and a focus on reentry and deterrence.

The goal of this PSN program is to reduce gun and gang violence by the most violent individuals in targeted enforcement area by employing a research-driven, intelligence-led, and problem-solving approach to reducing firearm and gang violence through enforcement, deterrence, intervention and prevention.
